Hollywood Actor Val Kilmer Dies Aged 65

Renowned Hollywood actor Val Kilmer died on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Val Kilmer was known for his roles in Top Gun and Batman Forever. His daughter Mercedes told US media that the 65-year-old actor died of pneumonia. The actor had been diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 but later recovered.
"See ya, pal. I'm going to miss you," actor Josh Brolin wrote alongside a picture of himself and Kilmer on social media. "You were a smart, challenging, brave, uber-creative firecracker. There's not a lot left of those," Josh Brolin added in the post. Kilmer, born in Los Angeles in 1959, was one of the youngest students ever admitted to the acting programme at the Juilliard School, aged 17, reported The Guardian.
He started out as a stage actor and became well-known in the 1980s with his roles in movie comedies Top Secret! and Real Genius. Kilmer also starred in "The Ghost and the Darkness" (1996), "The Saint" (1997), "At First Sight" (1999), "Red Planet" (2000), and "The Salton Sea" (2002).
